Berthe Portuguese sardine in olive oil 125g

Bertha's Portuguese sardines are a premium product made from carefully selected, mature sardines from the clean waters of the Portuguese coast. Unlike fillets, these sardines are packaged whole (with the ribs included, but they are soft and edible), which is the traditional Portuguese way of making quality canned sardines.
Sardines are preserved in pure olive oil, which enriches their flavour and keeps the fish juicy. The flavour is rich, deep and marine - Portuguese sardines are world famous for their exceptional taste. The ribs are soft and rich in calcium. Sardines are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, vitamin D and vitamin B12.
The Portuguese way to enjoy sardines is with grilled peppers, garlic and fresh bread. Serve the sardines simply on toasted bread, with a squeeze of lemon juice and fresh parsley. They are also excellent served tapas-style with olives, cherry tomatoes and cheese. Pair with Portuguese green wine or beer for an authentic treat - just like in Lisbon restaurants!
The shelf life is long when unopened, and many gourmets allow the sardines to ”age” for years for a fuller flavour.
