Arbequina olive oil from the Spanish company Oro del Desierto is an early harvest oil, meaning it is made from the first olives of the harvest, picked in October. It is also a monovarietal oil, which uses only one variety of olive from the same region. Arbequina olive oil is a pleasantly soft and fruity oil with a rich almond aroma. Try it especially in desserts, such as fresh orange slices flavoured with honey. It's also great in sauces, on fish and seafood.
Description
Oro del Desierto Arbequina olive oil is produced exclusively from olives of the Arbequina variety.
The olives are harvested from the only real desert in Europe, an olive grove in the Tabernas desert in Almería.
The olive harvest runs from October to early November. The oil is cold pressed in a two-stage process from very young olives, 75-80 % of which are still green.
The oil has an intense golden colour with green nuances. The first sensation of olive oil in the mouth is soft, harmonious and balanced. There is no harshness, pepperiness or pungency on the palate. There are also aromas of fresh almonds and semi-ripe fruit, with a grassy finish and a nice kick back.
Arbequina oil contains 350-450 mg/kg of polyphenols, which makes it better preserved and stronger in taste. It is not very resistant to high temperatures, so it is recommended to be used at room temperature.

A wonderfully fresh olive oil. I find it quite different from other oils made from this olive variety that I have tried.

Best in salads and also suitable for desserts. I recommend.
